2020 Biomedical Research Equipment & Supplies Exhibit at Fort Detrick

Sponsored by the Technical Sales Association in conjunction with the 2020 Spring Research Festival Committee at Fort Detrick

ABOUT

Building on the success of the past exhibits, the 30th annual event includes the 14th annual concurrent technical program. Poster sessions presented by research professionals from NCI, USDA, the Army and NIAID will be held in the exhibit tent. Scientific speaker sessions on topics featured in the poster abstracts will be presented in a nearby onsite facility. Special exhibits highlighting onsite intramural research, organized by NCIBR, will also take place concurrently. “Young Investigator Award” (postdoc/student) programs, “Meet the Scientist” poster presentations, public lectures and a Job Fair are planned to enhance the outreach to Frederick area students and the general public as well as the research community.

More than 1,000 purchasing agents, primary investigators and their laboratory staff from NCI/Fort Detrick’s 25 tenant organizations representing the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines and NCI’s Frederick Cancer Research Facility will attend. Neighboring research institutions and offsite government agencies will also be invited. The combined research budgets of NCI-Frederick and Fort Detrick exceeds $750 million. Fort Detrick’s 2018 research contract expenditures for equipment, supplies and services totaled $100 million. With the federal government’s renewed commitment to funding biomedical research, 2019 forecasts.

The 2019 exhibit featured nearly 200 booths presented by more than 180 regional and national suppliers. The 2020 exhibit predicts a repeat sellout with increased vendor participation. The premier combined exhibit/technical program along with an extensive promotional campaign (including email, advertisements and an onsite giveaway item) promises a record attendance.
